What’s Included In Our Road Cycling Transalp

Discover a New Type of Transalp

The Regions

From Passau at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers to Trieste on the Mediterranean. Our road cycling transalp covers the most diverse regions. Particular highlights include the Salzkammergut with its multitude of lakes, the mountain passes of the Niederen Tauern and Nockberge , the Kärntner Lakes , and the rugged Carnic and Julian Alps.
Let us take you straight from the daily grind to the Mediterranean by bike!

7 Guided Cycling Tours. Return By Bus

Our holiday has 7 stages. We start with a slightly flatter tour before tackling several more challenging mountain passes with outstanding climbs, such as the Postalm, Sölkpass, Nockalmstraße, Lanzenpass and the Vršič passes. The final stage to Trieste is short enough to allow enough time to enjoy some relaxation on the Mediterranean coast as a fitting conclusion to our transalp holiday.
We return by bus and our bikes are transported securely in a bike trailer. The stages vary between 70 and 150 km and from 1500 to 2900 vertical meters.

Our Hotels

8 nights in 3-star and 4-star superior hotels
Staying in a different hotel each day demands an exceptional selection of high quality hotels. We only select hotels that have a minimum 3-star superior rating, some of which include extensive spa facilities

Catering for Our Tours

Ride like a pro. Our experienced service team provide at least two feed stations for each stage, one of which is sufficient to replace a lunch stop. We are also accompanied by a professional mechanic to ensure that any mechanicals can be fixed en route.
We ride in three groups organized according to speed and ability, but all three groups ride the same route.

About Me

Mountain-loving Austrian. You are most likely to find me on skis or on the bike in the mountains at the weekend. Discovered a love for road cycling through my ambition to ride the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße (Grossglockner High Alpine Road).
I organized my first mountain stage holiday with Xandi in 2009, and have subsequently organized and led a number of road cycling holidays. We founded Stessaonda in 2016 with the Cycling Adventures banner, our road cycling holiday brand.
